What we think of Tiny Heinie

Book review

The story

In the world of the book, there are butts (men), tushies (women) and little bottoms (children). We follow Tiny Heinie, a little bottom, who listens to his parents talking one evening, and he hears his dad complain that Tiny Heinie isn’t cool. He’s not real kick-ass!

Tiny Heinie gets upset and decides to ask other rumps how to become real kick-ass. He meets everyone from a French shop owner to a good farmer, but fortunately both he and his dad eventually realize that the most important thing is for Tiny Heinie to be himself.

It’s funnily written and it’s one of the few books where I, as a reader, actually wanted to do voices.

The book is aimed at 4-7-year-olds, but slightly older children will enjoy it too, e.g., for self-reading.

(I think, I would have liked an ending with a little more weight. Things work out a bit too easily. But a child would probably hardly notice.)

Helle Petersen wants to give children and parents and grandparents an opportunity to sit and hygge and have fun together once they have finished reading the book. That is music to my ears. Combing creative pursuits with a story book is such a good idea and it will be exciting to see what Helle does with the rump universe in the future.
