Ready to go
Katja’s perfect version of a Tushie Cakes is ready to head north. The tasty morsels are inspired by cakes in my picture book about Tiny Heinie, and they are being baked to spread smiles around Djursland’s children’s and young people’s hospice.
So far, my Read & Do-It-Yourself universe about the Rumps has mainly revolved around reading, beads, and wool. But now it’s also possible to include baking as part of the reading experience of Tiny Heinie who wanted to be kick-ass like his dad.
Cake expert Katja Stock created her own interpretation of the Tushie Cakes that Miss Sunshine sells in her bakery (page 14 in the book). Katja’s cakes taste fantastic and consist of:
Two cookie tushie sandwiched together with lime ganache, and pants dipped in dark chocolate.
You can find the recipe on Katja’s website at www.kachkuun.dk
The Tushie Cakes are being baked as a gift for the hospitalized families and staff at Strandbakkehuset children’s and young people’s hospice, which I will be visiting the day after tomorrow.
